Damn Continuity

After my afternoon nap to an experimental album (a weird experience indeed), went for coffee by the sea. Could not stop noticing an ex pupil from this other class in school - he looked exactly like forty year olds some forty years ago.
Even though, before the advent of Christianity and some more weird and sinister ideas, Romans envisioned sex as a way of cheating death, "so the world is populated by shadows of the deceased", I must say this kind of continuity has me enthralled and rather scared.
So nothing has changed? We are so in grip of the tried that we cannot get away? Perhaps we will then give in to damned habit.
