"God, How I Interest Myself"

Sometimes I think, take the Balkans as an example, that people should just forget and focus on the here and now. But no, there's always an expert resuscitating something ancient.
This is where democracy is weakest. I say collective endeavours are a sham, marketing frenzy, and I say those exciting people should be beaten with a fat stick.
Why on Earth would I rally or invade when I can have coffee? The feeling of minding own business was summarised best by the Serbian rock band from 80s, Riblja Corba, in the song entitled All Quiet on the Western Front (itself an example of what I call forever translations: it's actually Nothing New in the West in German; it's the same in Croatian and Serbian).
Ergo, the songwriter just cites newspaper headlines, in an ingenious way plus rhyme, only to finish with the chorus of Nothing New. The end part contains the few lines that were actually suspicious for the Communist Party:

the great stubbornly toy with the small
ideals are the idiot's dole
and
factories pollute everything by
cretins turn to uprisings and die

Somebody should really render the whole thing into English. Figure, it could do wonders for the American scene.
