But the movie also aptly illustrates the two poles: one can have an adventure in the head, or in life. And the two are not really connected which is mirrored in the two types of fiction the movie writer spawns.
I picked up it was written by Stephen King. A good idea though. According to Fiona Webster, "Misery touches on several large themes: the state of possession by an evil being, the idea that art is an act in which the artist willingly becomes captive, the tortured condition of being a writer, and the fears attendant to becoming a "brand-name" bestselling author with legions of zealous fans."
This touches on the good ol' idea that all ideas are merely models of reality. After all, characters in his 'popular' fiction in the film also exclaim: "There is a higher justice than that of man. I will be judged by Him." The split between the popular and the ethereal is no split after all, and once again.
Enough for me; I'm getting a copy, ready to apologise though I still judge this title by its garish cover. I wonder if it's too factual.
